46 active cases in Duneland Schools

The number of active COVID-19 cases rose slightly on Thursday in the Duneland Schools, the Duneland School Corporation (DSC) is reporting.

As of 5:15 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 12, DSC was reporting a total of 46 active cases, up from 44 on Wednesday.

Three new cases were reported on Wednesday: one at Chesterton High School (one close contact); one at Liberty Intermediate (one close contact); and one at Liberty Elementary (no close contacts).

Active cases as of Thursday evening:

- CHS: eight (seven on Wednesday).

- Remote students: 14 (11 on Wednesday).

- LIberty Intermediate: four (four on Wednesday).

- Yost: two (three on Wednesday.

- CMS: five (five on Wednesday).

- Liberty Elementary: four (three on Wednesday).

- WIS: three (three on Wednesday).

- Jackson: two (two on Wednesday).

- Bailly: none (two on Wednesday).

- Brummitt: one (one on Wednesday)

- Other: three (three on Wednesday).

Since schools opened in August, DSC has reported a total of 136 COVID-19 infections among students and staff.
