44 active cases in Duneland Schools

Active COVID-19 cases upticked on Wednesday in the Duneland Schools, the Duneland School Corporation (DSC) is reporting.

As of 8:12 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 11, DSC was reporting a total of 44 active cases, up from 40 on Tuesday.

Seven new cases were reported on Wednesday: two at Chesterton High School (21 close contacts); two at Bailly Elementary (26 close contacts); and one each at Liberty Elementary (16 close contacts), Brummitt Elementary (no close contacts), and Transportation (three close contacts).

Active cases as of Wednesday night:

-- CHS: seven (eight on Tuesday).

-- Remote students: 11 (10 on Tuesday).

-- LIberty Intermediate: four (five on Tuesday).

-- Yost: three (three on Tuesday).

-- CMS: five (six on Tuesday).

-- Liberty Elementary: three (two on Tuesday).

-- WIS: three (three on Tuesday).

-- Jackson: two (two on Tuesday).

-- Bailly: two (none on Tuesday).

-- Brummitt: one (none on Tuesday)

-- Other: three (one on Tuesday).

Since schools opened in August, DSC has reported a total of 130 COVID-19 infections.
