1st Source Bank
recently presented the Porter County Community Foundation with a check for
$25,000 in support of the Foundation’s Tomorrow Starts Today campaign. The
campaign has raised funds to create a unique Center for Community
Philanthropy, a nonprofit conference center, as well as build the
community’s endowment funds and increase grantmaking.
The Patriotic Plaza
in front of the new Center, at 1401 Calumet Avenue, Valparaiso, was named in
honor of the gift from 1st Source Bank.
“1st Source Bank is
excited to partner with the Community Foundation in bringing the Center for
Community Philanthropy to Porter County,” said Matt Vessely, Regional
President of 1st Source Bank. “We look forward to the positive impact the
Center will have on nonprofit agencies and our community as a whole.”
“We are grateful
for 1st Source Bank’s involvement in the community and support of the
Foundation,” said Bill Higbie, President and CEO of the Porter County
Community Foundation. “Their generous investment will allow the Center to
serve the nonprofit organizations in Porter County, and it recognizes our
community’s appreciation for those who have served, and continue to do so,
in a very special way.”
The Porter County
Community Foundation awards over $2 million annually, in scholarships and
grants, to nonprofit organizations. The Foundation inspires giving and
engages the community to improve lives in Porter County now and forever.
