The Indiana State
Department of Health (ISDH) was reporting this morning 634 new COVID-19
cases over the last 24 hours (compared to 406 new cases on Wednesday), to
bring total confirmed cases in the state to 26,053 up from 25,419 on
Wednesday, an increase of 2.5 percent.
ISDH reported 26
additional deaths to bring the total so far to 1,508, up from 1,482 on
Wednesday. The number of probable COVID-19 deaths rose to 138 (137
Wednesday). Total confirmed and probable COVID-19 deaths in Indiana: 1,646
(1,619 Wednesday).
Probable deaths are
those for which x-ray, scans, and clinical symptoms all point to COVID-19
but for which no positive test is on record.
Nursing home cases
and deaths to date: 3,033 cases and 584 deaths. Number of nursing home
facilities in the state with at least one case of COVID-19: 197. Number with
at least one death: 121.
160,239 tests have
been reported to date to ISDH, up from 154,083 on Wednesday, an increase of
4 percent over the last 24 hours, with a positive rate of 16.3 percent.
Tests are being conducted by ISDH, the Centers for Disease Control and
Prevention, and private laboratories.
Tests in Porter
County: 2,827 (2,649 on Wednesday). In Lake County: 14,653 (13,847). In
LaPorte County: 2,374 (2,245).
Marion County has
the most reported cases, 7,793 (7,703 on Wednesday); and the most deaths,
451 (440). Lake County has reported 2,684 cases (2,588) and 134 deaths
(132), the second highest in the state in both categories. LaPorte County
has reported 346 cases and 13 deaths (340 and 12).
