The CHS class of 1962 celebrated their 45th class reunion at Portage’s Woodland Park August 18. Two former teachers, Mrs. Bertha Rhed Still and Mrs. Virginia Bateman, were present.

A picnic lunch was catered by the Duneland School Food Service and delicious corn-on-the-cob was prepared on the spot by Jerry Ward.

Among those attending were Tom Petersen, Sue Brennan, Jim Cook, Pam Herring Berry, Bob Parker, Jerry Ward, Karen Coambs, Roy Shepard, Rick Hokanson, Sue Stavropoulos Keiser, Shirley Rhoda Valpatic, Karen Fuller Maney, Linda Boi Burton, Maureen Ryan Cook, Paula Wentland Nicholson, Aileen Griffin Turner, Jim Cassidy, Virgil Gassaway, John Keiser, Nancy Nelson Adams, Roger McMeans, Terri Olson Vincent, Linda Collins Lytle, Lynn Billings Proper, Kathy Kelly Barbian, Ted Ahrendt, Andy Valpatic, Dick Castle, John Logan, Jerry Hill, Tom (Gerber) Tengblad, Allen Pease, Neil Charlson, and Jim Hall.

Allen Pease conducted an auction of some great and goofy donated items, the proceeds of which were earmarked for the upcoming 50th Reunion.

Rick Hokanson, class president, asked for a moment of silence to remember the 24 class members who have passed on.

All expressed thanks to those who worked on this reunion and their hope for the 50th reunion to be as memorable.
