With the new Skybus Airlines beginning service on Thursday, the Gary/Chicago International Airport announced that it will begin a new passenger shuttle service.

The shuttle operator, Davis Transportation, will provide shuttle service between the airport and downtown Chicago, with a stop in Stony Island, as well as between the airport and the Clark Road stop on the South Shore line.

Skybus Airlines will take its inaugural flight Thursday with non-stop daily flights to the Piedmont Triad International Airport in North Carolina. “The shuttle services will provide Skybus Airlines passengers with new and convenient transportation options while traveling to and from the airport,” said Airport Director Chris Curry.

The shuttle service cost to and from the Gary Airport from the Chicago Transit Authority Station at Roosevelt Road will be $20 per person each way, while the cost will be $15 per person for the shuttle at Stony Island Metra Station.

The shuttle service to and from the South Shore station at Clark Road will cost $1 each way per person.
